Montreal - Thursday, December 2, 2021

The English Montreal School Board (EMSB) is once teaming up with CTV Montreal for their annual Spirit of Giving campaign, which raises critical funds for 10 local charities.

More than 40 EMSB schools and centres will take part in the campaign. Over the course of the next month, many of the participating EMSB schools will organize a series of events set to encourage donations.

The COVID-19 situation has changed everyone’s lives in so many ways, and that affects the way the Spirit of Giving program operates.  In years past, schools had the luxury of collecting huge amounts of non-perishable food, toiletries and toys directly.  Again, this year efforts are being pushed exclusively online.

Additionally, from December 6 to 16, CTV Montreal’s Christine Long will visit: John F. Kennedy High School in St. Michel, LaurenHill Academy and Gardenview School in St. Laurent, Carlyle Elementary School in TMR, Pierre de Coubertin Elementary School in St. Leonard, Gerald McShane Elementary School in Montreal North, Michelangelo International in RDP and Edinburgh Elementary School in Montreal West to highlight their unique holiday themed activities.

Funds raised from the Spirit of Giving campaign will be split evenly amongst the following charities: Sun Youth, Share the Warmth, Mile End Community Mission, La Mosaïque, Renaissance, The Dépot, Batshaw Youth and Family Centres, MultiCaf, West Island Assistance Fund and the Nazareth Community Centre.
