Message from The Willingdon Administrative Team

Montreal - Saturday, March 28, 2020

Dear Willingdon families,

It is the end of another week during this weirdest of periods in our lives. Although the experience of quarantining may be challenging, and certainly may have become boring, it remains important to look for silver linings no matter the situation.

In 10 years from now, parents may be reminiscing with their children about this time and recounting how scared they were, sharing the worries we had about job security and money troubles. Perhaps a family business suffered or we spent extended periods away from grandparents or vacations deposits were lost. But perhaps the children's perspective is a different one; of course, they don't have the same worries as adults do. How will our children remember this experience in 10 years from now?

The children may remember it differently: "Our family danced in the living room every night and played board games. We made supper together and ate at the table together every single day. Our whole family went for walks and we even slept in a tent in the basement together. It was the best time of our life."

It's all a matter of perspective. Keep a positive head during this time. We are all in this together. And this too will pass in time and get better.

We would also like to take this opportunity to reach out to all our families that are in a vulnerable state or that require emergency assistance of any kind during these difficult times.  Please contact our school principal, Ms. Nicolas at cnicolas@emsb.qc.ca to inform her of how we can be of help to you and your loved ones. Ms. Nicolas will be working with the school team to ensure rapid and effective assistance.

Finally, please know that new directives regarding phase II of our school closure will be sent shortly by the EMSB.  Based on these directives, new changes and additions will be put in place.

Stay safe happy and healthy. Continue staying home and make the most of your time together. We miss you and love you all. Ça va bien aller.

Sincerely,

The Willingdon Administrative Team
